In keeping with its annual tradition of driving thought leadership and action at scale, the Lagos Business School (LBS) Sustainability Centre in partnership with the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), Shared Value Africa, Nestlé Nigeria, and PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) Nigeria, is set to host the 2025 International Sustainability Conference (ISC) themed “The Green Africa Landscape: Unlocking Value Through Corporate Sustainability,” from Thursday, November 27 (virtual) to Friday, November 28, 2025 (In-person) in Lagos.
The conference will convene global and African leaders in business, policy, academia, and development to explore how sustainability can drive innovation, shared prosperity and transformation across sectors and industries. It will feature a keynote speech, masterclasses, case studies, and panel discussions that highlight practical pathways to realising green economic promise through corporate sustainability at scale.
The conference will feature a robust lineup of distinguished speakers, including Canninah Dladla, Cluster President for Anglophone Africa, Schneider Electric; Sam Abu, Regional Senior Partner, PwC Nigeria; Dr Ndidi Nnoli-Edozien, Member, International Sustainability Standards Board(ISSB); Iheanyi Odinakachi Anyahara, Chair of the Forum for Advancing Sustainability and Integrated Reporting in Africa, Pan-African Federation of Accountants (PAFA); Dr. James Adenuga, Group Chief HSSE and Sustainability Officer at Dangote Industries Limited; Edwin Masaku Mutinda, Supply Chain Director, Diageo West and Central Africa; Ejiro Gray, Director of Sustainability and Governance, Sahara Energy, Eniola Akinsete, Group Head of Advisory Services and Chief Sustainability Officer, Bank of Industry Nigeria; amongst others. These distinguished thought leaders will unpack trends and best practices spanning sustainability reporting, green finance, supply chain transformation, climate-smart innovation and more; aligning business growth with environmental and social value creation.
Orevaoghene Atanya, Director, LBS Sustainability Centre, described the 2025 International Sustainability Conference as a pivotal platform for shaping Africa’s corporate sustainability agenda. “This year’s theme challenges businesses to look beyond compliance and rethink sustainability as a strategic lever for value creation,” she said. “Africa’s green transition will be driven by forward-looking organisations that weave sustainability into the core of their operations, unlocking opportunities that serve people, planet, and profit.”
The 2025 conference will spotlight key themes, including corporate leadership for a just and green transition, supply chain traceability and circularity, sustainability reporting and integrated disclosures under IFRS S1 and S2, and financing green growth through sustainable finance and innovation. It will also explore the policy frameworks and partnerships required to scale climate action across Africa.
